What we make

Pupello makes custom dog portraits — hand-crafted from your photo, transformed into a themed fine art piece, and printed on 250gsm satin paper. Each portrait is a physical object, made to be framed, displayed, and kept for decades.

We offer two portrait themes. The Admiral channels the naval grandeur of 18th-century officer portraiture — rich blues, gold braid, and a commanding presence that suits dogs who already think they run the household. The Centurion draws from classical Roman sculpture and heroic portraiture — marble textures, laurel wreaths, and the kind of gravitas that turns any dog into a legend.

Every portrait is available in A4, A3, Medium, and Large formats, as an unframed fine art print or as a digital file for those who want to print locally or gift instantly.

How we work

You upload a clear photo of your dog and choose a theme. Our team in Malta takes it from there — designing your portrait, then sending you a digital proof to review before a single sheet of paper is touched. See the full how it works breakdown.

We do not print until you say so. If the likeness isn't right or you want adjustments, we revise it. Once you approve the proof, we print on premium archival materials, package carefully, and ship tracked to your door — anywhere in the EU, UK, US, Canada, Australia, and beyond.

We are based in Malta — a small island in the Mediterranean with a long tradition of craft and artisan work. Every portrait is designed and printed here. The scale is intentional: we are not a factory. Each order gets individual attention.

From Malta, we ship to the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, and most international destinations. All physical orders include tracked delivery.

Who we are

Pupello was founded by Wayne Cutajar Johnston, based in Malta. Wayne has spent years working at the intersection of digital art and fine art print production — understanding both what makes a portrait feel alive and what archival printing materials actually deliver over time.

The idea behind Pupello is straightforward: most dog owners have hundreds of phone photos but nothing they would frame. A portrait changes that. It gives a dog a presence on a wall that lasts far longer than any camera roll.

Many of our most meaningful orders are memorial portraits — created after a dog has passed, from the best photo the owner still has. We handle these orders with particular care, because we understand what they represent.
